Are Anti Spyware And Malware The Same Thing?

Are Anti Spyware And Malware The Same Thing?

The simple answer to this question is no. The reason for this is that Spyware and Malware are not exactly the same thing. Malware refers to any type of malicious software that can cause harm to the computer or the user of the computer. Spyware is one type of Malware, but so is a virus, trojan horse, adware program, or worm. Anti Spyware software only removes spyware programs, leaving other forms of malware on the computer to cause more problems.

What is Spyware?

Spyware is a computer program created to gather information about the user to be used for many different purposes. The main purpose for these programs is advertising. Many websites will place what is called a tracking cookie on the computer, which keeps track of which websites are visited so advertisements can be customized based on the user’s interests. These seem harmless enough, but when accessed by a different spyware program that is looking for information to use for other purposes, this could cause harm to the computer or the user of the computer.

Which type of program is better, Anti Spyware or Anti Malware?

Anti Malware software is better just for the fact that it removes all forms of malicious software, including Spyware. This means that it does the job of Anti Spyware software as well as Anti Virus and Anti Adware. This gives the user the ease of using only one program to remove all types of malicious software instead of using a different program for each type.

Again, Are Anti Spyware And Malware The Same Thing?

No, they are not the same. Anti Malware does the same job as Anti Spyware along with a few extra features not included in Anti Spyware, such as Anti Virus.

  2. Do you believe that Windows 7 is better at safeguarding pc users from viruses and spyware? I have a couple of laptops with Windows 7 installed and have had issues with viruses. Now it might be that my better half uses one and my boy uses the other. Nevertheless operating systems ought to protect the pc regardless of who’s using it. Just saying.
